From Skid Row to Self Sufficiency
When we first met Bianca in 2018 she was seven months pregnant, drug addicted, and living on Skid Row. She reached out to us by phone asking for help to get off the streets, clean and sober before the baby was born. With Bianca about to have her baby most shelters and rehabilitation centers would not accept her. We found an incredible place that was willing to take her so late in her pregnancy but their requirements included a $1000 donation.
Without having funds readily available Bianca had to wait another two weeks in her dangerous situation until we could raise enough money to get her out of there. Once the money was raised we helped her medically detox and then took her to a Christian rehabilitation program. It was there Bianca accepted Jesus.
Bianca was courageous from the very beginning and quickly began to advocate for herself towards each new phase of recovery and life building. We came alongside her and have been supporting her journey ever since then. Over the last couple of years Bianca has worked hard at building a life for her and her children. Last year we were able to gift Bianca a car for her little family because of gracious donors to the SOUL Foundation.
Bianca has accomplished so much. She has full custody of her two children. She’s been a successful working mom for the last couple of years. Bianca has even had her social services case closed. Although we will always be available, should she be in need again, Bianca has successfully become a self-sustaining single mom.
